Save The Rainbow River
Restoration Has Started!!
We are very excited to announce, that after 3 years of hard work, we are finally able to start the clean-up of the lower Rainbow River. Right now you’ll notice workers laying pipes along the bike path in Blue Run Park. These pipes will be used to vacuum up the Hydrilla, algae, and muck that has accumulated on the river bottom. This slurry will then be piped onto land, where the organic material and debris will be filtered out, and the clean water will be returned to the river through the second pipe.
As we get underway, please check our website and Facebook page often as we will keep everyone up-to-date on what is happening and where will will be working.
We want to thank everyone for their support and patience during this long and difficult process. More information will be posted soon.
